Automotive and machine building anchor the state, and the rest follows the belts. The MIDC estates at Pune, Chakan, Ranjangaon, Talegaon, Nashik and Ahilyanagar take servo motors, servo drives, closed-loop stepper systems, EtherCAT motion controllers and PLCs; the packaging, pharma and food plants at Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, Mumbai, Thane and Navi Mumbai take HMIs, AC drives (VFD), pressure transmitters and level transmitters; and the foundry, sugar and textile units around Kolhapur, Satara, Sangli, Jalgaon and Nagpur take drives, transmitters and control panels.

Chakan, Ranjangaon and Talegaon near Pune feed the automotive lines, Nashik runs auto components and engineering, Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar builds packaging and pharma machinery, Kolhapur has one of the country's largest foundry clusters, and Mumbai and Thane hold the trading and OEM headquarters.
